To obtain a basic NSC pass, you need at least 40% in your Home Language, 30% in two other subjects, and 40% in three other subjects. For Bachelor's degree admission, you need 40% in Home Language and 50% in four recognised 20-credit subjects. Universities set their own higher APS requirements.

How MatricAce came to be.

MatricAce started with a frustration shared by millions of South African students: too many generic study apps that don't understand the NSC, too few affordable tools that actually match how the DBE sets exams.

We set out to build something different. Something that speaks the language of South African education. Something that a student in a rural school in Limpopo can use just as effectively as one in a private school in Sandton.

I built this for every
South African student.

I came to South Africa as a foreign national, and what I found inspired me deeply — a country full of brilliant, driven, extraordinary young people. From the private schools of Sandton to the public schools of Soweto, from the suburbs of Cape Town to the townships of Limpopo, I saw the same thing everywhere: students who wanted to succeed, who worked hard, and who deserved better tools than what existed.

So I built MatricAce — alone, from scratch, one line of code at a time. Not for one type of student, but for all of them. Whether you have a tutor and a laptop, or just a phone and determination — MatricAce meets you exactly where you are. Every screen, every question, every AI interaction was built to be world-class, accessible, and genuinely useful to any student who opens it.

South Africa gave me a purpose greater than myself. This country's youth is its greatest asset — resilient, sharp, and full of potential.
